A trip down memory lane my friend. I often have the same anxious thoughts about how little I knew about the game. Gary Hallberg didn’t fare as well as The Lizard with Harig on the bag. Thanks for the honorable mention.
I was there in 1981, caddying at Butler National Golf Club in Oak Brook, Illinois. They held a lottery, and when my name called, I picked Pat McGowan. It was interesting that during practice rounds Pat McGowan was good friends with Ed Fiori. Fiori who ended up winning the tournament! Pat McGowan did not make the cut; he told me he wished he golfed as well as I was a caddied.
Mike "Fluff" Cowan was asked once what made for a great caddie?. His answer: "A great player."

I truly treasured that experience it.
